- Make a list of the things your baby needs, instead of buying every thing, you can borrow from friends and family or buy them second hand.
- Rather than buying things that can be exclusively used by a boy or girl, buying things that both can use will lead to saving resources.
- Instead of using disposable maternity briefs that are a waste, use cotton ones that can be washed and reused and even if they are thrown, they are biodegradable.
- Breast-feed your baby as nature intended you to do. It is the most environmentally friendly food. It is sterile, healthy and free.
- Use washable breast pads they are eco-friendly than disposable ones.
- Use reusable cloth nappies made of cotton. These are simple to use and long lasting and be used for more than one child.
- When the baby starts on solids make your own baby food. These are cheaper than packaged food.
